1. To access the GlobalProtect Portal VPN, a first-time user must download and install the VPN client and then login using their linkblue credentials. This documentation covers the necessary steps for downloading and accessing the GlobalProtect Portal VPN for both Windows and Mac users. From your browser, go to 2.
2. Click the Mac 32/64 bit download link. Once the download completes, go into your Downloads folder, run GlobalProtect.pkg. Click Continue through the default settings. Note: You may need Administrator privileges. Note: You may see a System Extension Blocked pop up window like the one below. Even if you do not see the pop up and are using.

Cause
According to Technical Note TN2459 from Apple, 'macOS High Sierra 10.13 introduces a new feature that requires user approval before loading newly-installed third-party kernel extensions (KEXTs).' Additionally, Technical Note TN2459 from Apple indicates, '[t]his feature enforces that only kernel extensions approved by the user will be loaded on a system.'
When a request is made to load a KEXT that the user has not yet approved, the load request is denied and macOS presents the alert with a System Extension Blocked message.

Resolution

Globalprotect For Mac

Enable Palo Alto Networks as a trusted developer.

1. From your Mac endpoint, launch System Preferences
2. Open the Security & Privacy preferences and then select General
3. Click the lock icon on the bottom left of the window to make changes and modify preferences
4. When prompted, enter your Mac User Name and Password and then Unlock the preferences
5. Click 'Allow' next to the message 'System software from developer 'Palo Alto Networks' was blocked from loading.'
